Au Pair Training

S- au pair has developed a special au pair training session for au pairs who stay with a Dutch or Belgian host family. The course will be conducted by course instructor or trainer Mr. A.C.M. Emmen (MA) of the Orthopedagogical Orthodidactical Bureau in Tilburg.

The aim of this one-day training session is to familiarize the au pair with the tasks that she/he will have to carry out within the host family. Thanks to years of experience, we have gained the knowledge your au pair will need to apply within each of her/his responsibilities on a daily or regular basis. During the training session, specifically designed course material will be used in group meetings to address subjects such as cultural differences, expectations, leisure, taking the initiative, etc. In short, a complete program will be offered to your au pair.

• Opening by course trainer and short explanation concerning the aims of the training course
• Background on cultural history of The Netherlands and Belgium
• Psychometric test
• Interactive group discussions on expectations that are culturally linked to the habits of the au pair
• Lunch
• City tour following the “Special route with questions” guide
• Socio drama / Role-playing game
• Draft plan for activities and leisure
• Closure
• Informal get together

The course aims to teach the au pair to rightly judge her/his own responsibilities and to awaken his/her awareness regarding the responsibilities of his/her tasks.
